Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 66

gwāla saṁga, jeṁvata bāla gupāla

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(Inebriated with the love of His friends, the Supreme Lord Shrī Kṛishṇa, forgetting His majesty, is pleasing them by eating with them like an ordinary child.) Bhagwan Kṛishṇa is eating a meal with His cowherd friends. Again and again, He forcibly takes the morsels out of His friends’ mouths and eats them with great relish. His friends are running from hither to thither which means that they don’t want to share their food with Him. When the cowherd boys were thus running, Manasukhā, drowned in the ocean of happiness, thought about a trick to tease Bhagwan Kṛishṇa. With that trick in his mind, he stood among the friends and said to them, “My dahī-pakaurī (an Indian dish) is so delicious that whoever eats it once wants to eat it forever.” Hearing this, Bhagwan Kṛishṇa stood up at once and opened His mouth. Manasukhā, too, according to his plan, pretended to feed dahī-pakaurī to Bhagwan Kṛishṇa, but instead of putting it in His mouth, he rubbed it on His (Bhagwan Kṛishṇa’s) cheeks. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Seeing this joke, even I began to laugh with the cowherd boys, clapping my hands. The result is obvious, the innocent child Kṛishṇa got annoyed.”
