kahauṁ hari kahā? kauna muṁha lāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh Shyāmasundara! What can I say to You and with what face? I could not surrender myself to You even after having as my lord such infinitely great saviour of the fallen as You are. I have well read all the Vedas, Shāstras and Purāṇas and also listened to them from others, but did not accept their teachings from within due to ego. I always aim at pleasing worldly people by various colourful talks. I try to call myself a rasika saint by falsely criticizing even true saints. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that this invaluable body is drifting every moment towards death; still I do not wake up.
