aho hari! sochahu pāchhila bāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh Shyāmasundara! Just think about the past. It is only because of sinners, that after acquiring the title ‘Patita-pāvana’, i.e. the one who purifies the sinful, You have become famous in the world. I am the leader of sinners; still, You have forgotten the gratefulness towards sinners. I do not care about myself even in the least; all I am worried about is Your promise of delivering the fallen souls. Oh Ocean of mercy! You have always acted according to Your name ‘Patita-pāvana’ and delivered even the greatest sinners of the world, but You have not done so with me. Therefore it is only because of me that Your promise of being Patita-pāvana will be broken. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says. “I do not mean to say that I want deliverance from sins. What I actually desire for is the bondage for endless time by becoming a bee of Your lotus-feet.”
