Dainya Madhuri · Pad 12
aho hari! dehu mohiṁ virahāga
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh Shyāmasundara! Give me the pain of Your separation, attaining which even self-realized, liberated paramahansas consider themselves to be extremely fortunate. The fire of this pain of separation burns down the five sheaths (pañcha kosha) in the same way as the food eaten is burnt in the digestive fire in the stomach. Tears flowing from the eyes because of that fire of separation wash away all sins. The three types of the temperature (grief) – intrinsic (daihika), superhuman (daivika) and extrinsic (bhautika) are also burnt out in that fire of separation, and the five afflictions – attachment, enmity etc. too are destroyed forever. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “When will I be blessed with the pain of separation in mādhurya-bhāva, attaining which I will become an eternal bride?”
