Siddhanta Madhuri · Pad 80
mohiṁ manamohana mana bhāya re
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Shyāmasundara has stolen my heart. In this world, some simply repeat a divine name; some practise austerity and some observe fasts. Some sit in samādhi in a forest, some go on the pilgrimage of all the four shrines of the Hindus viz. Badrināth, Rāmeshwaram, Dwārikā, and Jagannāthpurī, while others go to Kāshī to die. (It is believed that one who dies in Kāshī attains liberation.) Some wear ochrous clothes and some dye their clothes in saffron colour. Some put round tilaka on their forehead, some vertical, and some besmear their forehead with ashes. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “All this is naivety. Without attaching the mind to the lotus-feet of Shyāmasundara, the above-mentioned physical actions can never make you reach the end.”
