balihārī hai tihārī banavārī
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A rasika says, “Oh Shyāmasundara! We sacrifice ourselves on Your blissful but intricate divine pastimes, which are totally inverse to the worldly code. The greatest liberated paramahansas like Sanaka etc. want to have just a little glimpse of Your fascinating form in their nirvikalpa trance but You probably feel shy in going there; whereas You delight in being insulted by the illiterate water-carriers, the maidens of Braja, while chasing them in order to flirt with them. Indrāṇī, Bhawānī, Saraswatī, Brahmāṇī, Rati and others always long for Your looks of love but Oh Līlādhārī! You are really blessed to ignore them and give supreme happiness to an ordinary woman like Kubjā after transforming her from a hunchbacked woman into a beautiful maiden!” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “I offer myself on that lovely sight when hearing bitter remarks from the maidens of Braja, Shyāmasundara, feeling inebriated with joy, involuntarily utters, ‘Balihāra!’(i.e. I sacrifice myself on this).”
