sakhī! piya, atishaya sarala subhāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
One sakhī declares Shyāmasundara to be ruthless. At this, another sakhī opposes her in the following way – Oh sakhi! The nature of beloved Shyāmasundara is infinitely simple. Even saints declare our Beloved to be infinitely tender-hearted; why then, do you call Him hard-hearted? Sakhi! Shyāmasundara is blameless, don’t be angry at Him; there is some other secret behind His not coming back. In my opinion, that Kubjā has cast some spell on Him. Therefore, following my advice, let’s all go to Mathurā, disguising ourselves as Kubjā. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “Nowadays, the Beloved strongly likes hunchbacked women, therefore He will embrace us all and real Kubjā will be left piqued.”
