sakhina tanu, binu priyatama piyarāna
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The pitiable condition of the gopīs in Shyāmasundara’s separation after His going away to Mathurā.) The ceaseless agony of beloved Shyāmasundara’s separation has paled the body of the gopīs. They call out to Shyāmasundara saying ‘Oh Beloved!’ and keep on searching for Him inside the creepers of different groves. Sometimes they lament saying, ‘Oh Beloved! Oh Treasure of our life! Where have You gone abandoning all the maidens of Braja?’ They neither eat nor drink nor sleep. All they do is to weep, filling up their eyes with tears moment after moment. They fall down in a swoon over and over again after saying, ‘Oh Dearest!’ Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Although Shyāmasundara eternally resides in the hearts of gopīs, yet their eyes yearn to see Him.”
