Virah Madhuri · Pad 156
lakhī piya, jā dina mṛidu musakāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “Oh sakhi! Since the day I saw beloved Shyāmasundara’s slow smile, His engaging form has pervaded every fibre of my being. Wherever I see, I find only that fascinating form. Everyone says, ‘She has become insane.’ My body is rapidly emaciating due to being engulfed in the fire of separation. The burning is so intense that it does not get extinguished even though I shed tears day and night. Selfish worldly relatives give me various treatments thinking it to be a physical ailment. You tell yourself, how I can reveal the reality to anyone.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the virahiṇī, heaving a sigh of pain, exclaims, “Oh! Somebody show me that same sweet form again at least for once!”
