ūdho!, dhanya hamāro bhāga
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Expressing their gratefulness to Uddhava, the gopīs of Braja state, “Oh Uddhava! We are extremely fortunate and blessed. The happiness of the sweet sight of our Beloved’s beloved friend has extinguished the fire of our Beloved’s separation. Oh Uddhava! Drowned in the bliss of divine love, our minds are not in our hands anymore. What shall we do? The heart-stealing face of our Beloved has gotten stuck in each and every fibre of our being with unflinching love. We have this complete faith and hope in our heart that we will certainly meet our Beloved, if not in this life, then in some other life.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī sarcastically remarks, “Oh Uddhava! Gyāna (knowledge) is for the greatest swans (paramahansas). How can we crows, who are tied with the rope of love, understand it?”
