sakhī! maiṁ, bikī āju binu dāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(A gopī is describing her first encounter with Shyāmasundara to her friend.) Oh sakhi! Today, I was sold without a price! That beloved Shyāmasundara bought me without any bargaining whatsoever, i.e. He made me His own forever. Even I became separated from this world forever, giving away my body, mind, soul and everything. Oh sakhi! Now I constantly meditate on Shyāmasundara’s name, form, attributes and līlās. Renouncing the pleasures of this world as well as the happiness of liberation, etc., I am ceaselessly drinking the nectar of ecstatic selfless-love of kānta-bhāva. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, heaving long sighs, says, “That fortunate individual soul who has made her place in the heart of her Beloved (i.e. the Supreme Soul Shyāmasundara), alone can become a bride in real sense of the term, and be blessed by His grace!” In other words, “I have not been blessed with this great fortune so far.”
