banāyo, hari yogini ko bhesha
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(Shyāmasundara has disguised Himself as a female ascetic in an attempt to deceive Kishorī Jī.) The ash smeared all over Shyāmasundara’s body makes Him appear to be Bhagwan Shaṅkara disguised as a gopī. This fascinating sight has to be seen to be believed, as it is impossible to describe it in words; Shyāmasundara looks like an actual female ascetic. There does not seem even the slightest difference at all. In this unrecognizable guise, Shyāmasundara entered Kishorī Jī’s palace, which is inaccessible even to Mahālakshmī. Being adept in the art of concocting stories, Shyāmasundara further gained entrance to the interior of the palace. When the sakhīs saw this female ascetic and observed Her gestures, Her posture, Her appearance and the complexion to be like Shyāmasundara’s, they became highly suspicious. Hence, they decided to confirm their doubts. With the excuse of looking at the garland embracing the female ascetic’s neck, they came close to Her and saw saint Bhṛigu’s footmark on Her chest. Thus, Shyāmasundara’s disguise was exposed. In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī informed Kishorī Jī that the leader of tricksters, Shyāmasundara had come to cheat Her.
