banata tuma jāni jāni anajāna

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Oh Shyāmasundara! You deliberately feign ignorance. We have been under the illusion of Your māyā since the beginning-less time. Like a spider who gets stuck in its own web, I have bound myself with the chain of three types of actions – sañchita (accumulated actions of past innumerable lives), prārabdha (actions, of which one must undergo the result in this life), and kṛiyamāṇa (fruit-yielding actions performed in the present life with the freedom of will). We challenge You to give even a single example from among gods, human beings and ascetics who could conquer Your māyā (without Your grace) even after practising utmost spiritual discipline. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Therefore, make me Your own by giving me Your selfless divine love.”
