Dainya Madhuri · Pad 1

agati ke gati tuma dīnadayāla!

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Oh merciful Shyāmasundara! You are the only refuge for the orphans. Worldly mother, father, wife, husband, children and others accompany one only in good times, but You gratified even an ugly, hunchbacked woman like Kubjā, transforming her into an extremely lovely damsel. You gave Sudāmā two out of the three worlds (heaven, earth and the lower regions) in exchange for the two-handfuls of his rice, which You Yourself took from him by force. You stood even by the Pānḍavas who were living in a forest and were in a state of utter destitution. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Up to what extent can we say: even the demoness Pūtanā, who made You drink poison was blessed by You like Your mother with a place in Your divine abode, Goloka. Who else can be merciful like You?”
