prīti kī rīti na sakhi saba jāna
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh sakhi! Only a few rare souls can understand the mode of love. The mind, which remains attached to wife, son, husband etc., fails to comprehend it. It is incomprehensible even to that mind which is fond of the rites and rituals enjoined in the Vedas. And the mind which is enamoured of the goal of liberation through the non-dualistic path of knowledge cannot fathom it either. Only the mind that detaches itself from the world, the Vedas and the goal of liberation and falls in love with Shyāmasundara, says Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, can apprehend this mode of love by Shyāmasundara’s grace.
