1कान्हा को पिया माना सुना नाहिं बामा।
2शूर्पणखा के नाक कान कटवाया रामा॥
3kānhā ko piyā mānā sunā nāhiṁ bāmā
4śhūrpaṇakhā ke nāka kāna kaṭavāyā rāmā
5“Do you not know that as Ram, He cut off the
6nose and ears of Shurpnakha for daring to desire
7Him as her Beloved? Are you sure He will reciprocate
8your love appropriately?”
