श्यामा श्याम आये तजि गोलोक धामा।

यह है चमत्कार प्रेम ब्रज बामा॥

śhyāmā śhyāma āye taji goloka dhāmā

yaha hai chamatkāra prema braja bāmā

Shyama Shyam had to leave Their divine abode Golok

to descend on this earth. This was the miraculous result

of the love of the sadhan siddha Gopis* who had appeared

in Braj. (They had loved Shyamsundar for ages with

the sentiments of madhurya bhav. For a long time they

had been waiting for Shyamsundar to descend in Braj

and grace them with divine love.)

Sadhan siddha Gopis - These souls had loved Shyamsundar for ages

with feelings of madhurya bhav, sentiments of a lover for her beloved.

They had attained the final stage of their devotion, and during His

descension in Braj, Shyamsundar was supposed to bestow upon

them the fruit of their devotional practice. This would not have

been possible if Shyama Shyam had remained in Golok. For a long

time these souls had hoped that Shyama Shyam would descend in

Braj to grace them with divine love.
