1श्याम गये मथुरा ना गई ब्रज बामा।
2श्याम रुचि महँ रुचि राखें आठु यामा॥
3śhyāma gaye mathurā nā gaī braja bāmā
4śhyama ruchi mahaṁ ruchi rākheṁ āṭhu yāmā
5Shyamsundar left the Gopis in Vrindavan to live in
6separation from Him and went to Mathura. Even though
7Mathura was not far from Vrindavan, the Gopis never
8went to see their Beloved in Mathura without His
9permission as they never act against the will of their
10Beloved. They never seek their personal pleasure.
