1शास्त्र वेद पढ़ा सुना गुना नाहिं श्यामा।
2जानि जानि अपराध करूँ आठु यामा॥
3śhāstra veda pad̤hā sunā gunā nāhiṁ śhyāmā
4jāni jāni aparādha karūṁ āṭhu yāmā
5Even though I have read and heard the spiritual
6teachings of the Vedas and other scriptures, I have never
7applied them practically in my life. Knowingly, I keep
8committing offences all the time.
