1नामी का न पाया रस गाया तेरा नामा।
2पित्त रोगी को ज्यों मीठा खारा लगे बामा॥
3nāmī kā na pāyā rasa gāyā terā nāmā
4pitta rogī ko jyoṁ mīṭhā khārā lage bāmā
5O Shyama! Although I have been chanting Your name, yet
6I have not experienced any bliss in it. Just as sweet things
7taste bitter to the person suffering from a disease of
8excessive bile in his body, similarly I have not been able
9to taste the sweet nectar of bliss inherent in Your names.
