Shyāma ke kandhe sughara nihāra.

sundara kandha suḍaula siṁhahūṁ, kandha lajāvana hāra.

kandhoṁ ke nīche janu jaladhara, nīlakaṇṭha chhavidāra.

usameṁ chamachama kaustubha maṇi kī, chamaka chamaka balihāra.

puni gara raṅga biraṅge ratnana, maṇi muktana ko hāra.

kou kaṇṭha kou vaksha kou kaṭi, lauṁ kara hāra vihāra.

puni hārana saṅga guṅja māla duti, indra dhanusha raṅga dhāra.

lahi ‘Kṛipālu’ vanamāla sugandhani, shambhu samādhi bisāra.

The graceful broad shoulders of Shyāmasundara have a special elegance.

They defeat even the pride of a lion’s shoulders in grace. Between His

shoulders is His blue cloud-like beautiful neck. Brilliance itself appears

to be pale in comparison to the radiance of the glittering kaustubhamaṇi

around His neck. There are necklaces of pearls and colourful precious

stones around His neck. Some necklaces adorn His chest and some go

right down to His waist. His banamālā (garland of forest flowers) along

with the various kinds of beautiful necklaces around His neck appear to

have the lustre of a rainbow. The fragrance from the five kinds of flowers

in His banamālā (pārijāta, kunda, mandāra, tulasī, etc) makes even Shiva

lose His trance.
