1कृष्ण बहिर्मुख जीव कहँ, माया करति अधीन ।

2ताते भूल्यो आपु कहँ, बन्यो विषय-रस-मीन ॥५॥

3भावार्थ - अनादिकाल से जीव अपने स्वामी से विमुख है। अतएव माया ने

4वश में कर लिया है। परिणामस्वरूप जीव स्वयं को देह मानने लगा एवं

5संसारी विषयों में आसक्त हो गया।

6Krishn bahirmukh jeev kahaṇ, mȧyȧ karaṭi aḍhin.

7Ṭȧṭe bhoolyo ȧpu kahṇ banyo vishaya-ras-meen. [5]

8Since eternity the soul has forgotten its true Lord, Who is Krishn,

9so maya has kept the soul under its influence. Thus, forgetting

10its Divine identity and identifying itself with the material body,

11the soul has become deeply attached to worldly pleasures.
