## English whole-pad meaning

Blessed is the divine abode, Govardhana which is the very life of the rasika saints of divine love, and which has charmed into submission even the Supreme God – Bhagwan Kṛishṇa. Bhagwan Kṛishṇa who is the refuge of innumerable Brahmās, Vishnus and Shaṅkaras, Himself took shelter under this Govardhana when Indra (the king of the heavenly gods), due to his arrogance, had caused incessant heavy rains for one week in order to deluge Braja. The absolute Brahma, the Supreme Lord Shrī Kṛishṇa, whose lotus feet are worshipped by Mahālakshmī herself; Himself had worshipped this Govardhana along with all the residents of Braja. The Vedas in their personified form offer worship to Brahma Shrī Kṛishṇa, and Brahma Shrī Kṛishṇa offers worship to Vṛishabhānunandinī while enacting the līlās of divine love, although in principle both Rādhā and Kṛishṇa, in spite of having different bodies, have one soul. Both Rādhā and Kṛishṇa constantly perform divine sports of love in the enchanting groves of this Govardhana, seeing which even Mahālakshmī yearns to attain this divine love-bliss. To attain salvation, some worldly people undergo the discipline of the eight yogic practices and some leave their bodies in Kāshī. (It is thought that one who dies in Kāshī attains liberation.) The ignorance of both these types of people makes me laugh. Leaving aside the veritable serpent-king in the form of Govardhana, these people waste their time wandering in search for the empty serpent-holes. This Govardhana is swept clean by the four Vedas themselves in their personified form. Here, Bhagwan Shiva, assuming the form of a gopī, comes running for participating in the divine rāsa dance; the creator of the world, Brahmā also begs for the dust of this divine abode, Govardhana, and even mukti personified serves here like a maid for her own liberation. Govardhana – which is studded with emerald gems, and which always bathes in intense light, putting even the beauty of crores of moons to shame; seeing whose sweetness even Mahāvishṇu, the Lord of Baikuṇṭha, feels embarrassed, realizing the inferiority of the happiness of his own abode – is the ornament of the residents of Braja, giver of bliss to rasika saints and destroyer of the arrogance of Indra. The beauty of the beautiful flowery groves of Govardhana puts to shame even the architecture of the Creator, Brahmā. The centre of this Govardhana is beautified with Mānasī Gaṅgā and Rādhākuṇḍa, Kṛishṇakuṇḍa etc. The importance of this abode cannot be described even by Saraswatī, the goddess of speech. The nectar of divine love which the Vedas declare to be unattainable, is poured forth lavishly by Shrī Rādhā and Kṛishṇa in every lane of Govardhana, but no one could understand the secret of this divine love-bliss without the grace of rasika saints so far. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “We always remain fearless having taken refuge in this divine transcendental abode, Govardhana.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
