## English whole-pad meaning

A virahiṇī, abusing the moon says, “Oh! Oh! This moon is bent on giving me pain throughout the night and is burning me. The wickedness in the world is earned either from lineage, or from association; but so far as this moon is concerned, his lineage is of the ocean and his association is always with Bhagwan Shiva’s forehead. Why, then, does he perform such a bad deed of burning? This moon is so unabashed that bearing the blame of killing the lovelorn ladies within his heart in the form of a black spot, he smiles before the whole world in the night. And this wicked moon has kept at a great distance from him even his darling, the water-lily, who practises severe austerities for him by continuously drowning herself in the water. So far as I understand, the temperature of the moon’s poison is a lot fiercer than that of the deadly poison drunk by Bhagwan Shiva.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “That is why Bhagwan Shiva readily drank the deadly poison but fearing the poison of the moon, he has kept it on his head only.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
