## English whole-pad meaning

(The lament of a Braja maiden in Shyāmasundara’s separation after His going away to Mathurā.) Oh sakhi! Now that bliss has become a past dream. That cruel Akrūra forcibly took away Shyāmasundara. Now who is left as our own in the world? Oh sakhi! How long will the mere repetition of Shyāmasundara’s name be helpful? Now all of us are doomed to be scorched in the fire of Shyāmasundara’s separation unceasingly. Oh sakhi! In my opinion, it is useless to keep this body alive without Shyāmasundara. At this, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī said to the gopī, “Oh sakhi! The Beloved’s separation alone is the real touchstone for measuring the love of a female lover for her Beloved. That is, she is proved to be a true lover only if she sustains her body happily even in the Beloved’s separation, thinking it to be her Beloved’s wish.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
