## English whole-pad meaning

A virahiṇī has grown delirious in Shyāmasundara’s separation. Revealing her state to herself, one of her intimate friends says, “Oh sakhi! You have gone mad.” The virahiṇī replies, “No, no, see, the Beloved has come in a jovial mood.” Her friend says, “No, this is the spring season.” At this, the virahiṇī says, “Look, look, sitting on the tamāla-tree, the Beloved is calling me.” Her friend says, “It is not the voice of the Beloved, rather it is the cooing of a cuckoo.” At this the virahiṇī says, “Look, even His pītāmbara is fluttering.” The friend replies, “It is not the pītāmbara; it is the yellow-coloured blossom of the mango-tree.” The virahiṇī says, “Oh sakhi! Don’t you see His curly locks of hair are swinging in the air?” The friend replies, “No, these are the swarms of black-bees humming on the mango-blossom.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that the virahiṇī repeatedly clasps the new leaves of the mango-tree to her bosom, thinking them to be the reddish soles of Shyāmasundara’s feet.

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
