## English whole-pad meaning

(The lamentation of the Braja-gopīs after Shyāmasundara’s departure to Mathurā.) Oh sakhi! Akrūra forcibly took away the vermilion of our suhāga. Oh! How cruel that Akrūra is who, in front of our very eyes, took our Beloved away, making Him sit in his chariot! Who the fool has given him the name ‘Akrūra’ (meaning merciful) whose action is of absolute cruelty? Oh sakhi ! He does not know that Shyāmasundara, and Shyāmasundara alone, who is dearer to the residents of Braja than their own life, is the veritable life-giving herb for them. Even one moment of His separation used to be felt by them as a kalpa. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “Now that their same Beloved has gone away, the Braja, in the form of their heart, will surely drown in the flood of their tears.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
