## English whole-pad meaning

Misinterpreting the symptoms of love in Kishorī Jī for signs of fear, a gopī asks her, “What are You scared of? All of a sudden, Your hair stand on their ends, the body thrills and emits very much sweat. Waking up in the middle of Your sleep all of a sudden, You sit startled and, then, start running from hither to thither. Sometimes You laugh uproariously and sometimes shed tears saying, ‘Hāi! Hāi!’. Sometimes You mutter something to Yourself and sometimes become absolutely silent. Sometimes the tears of happiness can be seen flowing from Your eyes and sometimes it seems as if You are angry. Sometimes, You do as if the taṇḍava dance and sometimes become extremely bashful. Sometimes You are conscious of the outer world, while at other times, You lose all consciousness and fall on the ground in a swoon.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “When the gopī was thus asking questions, Lalitā sakhī told her equivocally that Kishorī Jī was under the effect of some evil spirit.” The actual implication of Lalitā’s words is that to be mentally attached and devoted to somebody is very bad. Kishorī Jī’s heart is absolutely devoted to beloved Shyāmasundara. That’s all. She is neither under the effect of some evil spirit nor scared of anything.

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
