## English whole-pad meaning

A virahiṇī says, “Let somebody show mercy on me and solve the problem of the longing in my heart for beloved Shyāmasundara’s sweet-meeting! So far as I am concerned, the more I try to solve the problem of the constant remembrance of my Beloved by trying to forget Him, the more complicated it becomes, i.e. His memories become more intense. Oh friend! What was merely a little amusement for the eyes, at first, has now become the noose around my neck. Now even those eyes are craving to see Shyāmasundara. Even my mind befriended the Beloved and the intellect (the will), too, forgot itself and was absolutely intoxicated with His love. So thinking me to be all alone, the feeling of separation kindled a fire in my heart. I tried to extinguish this fire by creating the clouds of long, heavy sighs, and constantly shedding them through the eyes in the form of tears, but to no avail. The fire got fiercer and fiercer. Oh friend! If I leave my body, it will stigmatise the clean, shining cloth of love, because love is supposed to give immortality. Therefore, I have no other alternative but to long and crave day and night.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says to the gopī, “Oh virahiṇī! When you have put your neck in the mortar, why should you be afraid of the blows?”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
