## English whole-pad meaning

Shyāmasundara was defeated in the play of holī. Having lost, He started running, but the sakhīs who were ready for this, followed Him and surrounding Him, forcefully caught hold of Him. Tying Him up, they brought Him to Kishorī Jī, shouting the slogan, ‘Glory to Kishorī Jī! Glory to Kishorī Jī!’ Then, as suggested by Shrī Kishorī Jī, the sakhīs braided His hair and filled the parting with sindūra. They applied a bindī of red rolī on His forehead. They then, made Him wear a blouse on His chest, a nose-ring and a besara in His nose, and covered His head with a lovely chunarī, heavily sprayed with perfume. Henna was applied to His hands and mihāvara on His feet. Indescribable was the beauty of the toe-rings the sakhīs made Him wear around His toes. In this way, Shyāmasundara was adorned from head to toe with all sixteen (traditional) embellishments and really looked like a dark-complexioned stunning damsel (Shyāmā gorī). Thereafter, the sakhīs began playing on different musical instruments like drum etc. and Shyāmasundara started dancing in the lanes of Gahvaravana with the veil drawn over His face. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī extremely fascinated by this scene, sacrificed his body, mind and very self on it, and in front of the sakhīs, he humorously asked Shyāmasundara, “Oh Shyāmā! You really dance very well. Whose daughter are You?”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
