## English whole-pad meaning

Fed up with Shyāmasundara’s incongruous behaviour during the days of Holī, a gopī complains about Him to her friend in love-laden oblique words, “Oh sakhi! The actions of this black-complexioned Kanhaiyā are also black. Oh sakhi! Listen. On the pretext of playing Holī, He engages in innumerable improper actions. Addressing me ‘Oh Beloved’, He rubs gulāla on my cheeks and then says, ‘Why do you feel shy? Why don’t you also call Me ‘Beloved!’?’ Oh sakhi! He bends down and forcefully looks into my eyes and makes various improper gestures. I feel ashamed to tell you about His other intimate actions. In brief, there is nothing which He does not do.” In the meanwhile, hearing this feigned criticism of Shyāmasundara’s actions, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī humorously said to the gopī, “A woman is considered to be abalā (devoid of strength) both in the world and in the Veda, therefore, it is not surprising that you have been defeated by Shyāmasundara, for even the great powers, Brahmā, Vishnu and Shaṅkara, have accepted defeat before Him.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
