## English whole-pad meaning

A gopī says, “Shyāmasundara’s flute is a great nuisance. Hearing its melody, all the maidens of Braja wander from place to place as though under some magic spell. One gopī runs away from home; another sheds tears, not being able to leave the house; another lovelorn gopī heaves the sighs of pain, saying ‘Hāi, Hāi!’ as soon as she hears the flute; and some of the maidens actually become mad, unmindful of this world and the world beyond. Hearing the soul-stirring music of the flute, even the deer in the forest are left transfixed, unable to either chew the grass that is in their mouth or spit it out. Listening to the flute, even the greatest gyānīs like Shukadeva, Sanaka and his three brothers, and also Bhagwan Shaṅkara etc. forget their samādhi.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī most humbly says to himself, “Oh mind, deaf as you are, there is nothing amazing if you could not be bewitched by the enchanting music of the flute.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
