## English whole-pad meaning

(Bhagwan Kṛishṇa, in the guise of a lady bangle-seller named Shyāma-sakhī, goes to deceive Shrī Rādhā.) Embellished with all sixteen (traditional) adornments and looking infinitely charming, Shyāmasundara as Shyāma-sakhī is sliding bangles on Kishorī Jī’s wrist in Kishorī Jī’s palace. First of all, She presses the fingers on Kishorī Jī’s hands that are more tender than even a lotus, and experiences extreme delight at Her touch. The symptoms of ecstatic emotions of divine love such as thrilling, horripilation, perspiration, etc. begin to manifest through Her body, but She tries Her best to conceal them somehow by talking smilingly with Kishorī Jī about family matters. But the swelling tide of the ocean of love gradually overtakes Her. Consequently, instead of the bangles, She now starts sliding Her hand over the hand of Kishorī Jī. When after a short time, She regains consciousness, She at once stands up, and in an attempt to conceal Her ecstatic emotions, rushes out to the garden from where She brings back some tender banana-leaves. Placing them on Kishorī Jī’s hand, She again starts sliding the bangles onto Her hand, but due to Her inexperience and love-trance, the bangles break repeatedly. With the breaking of each bangle, Kishorī Jī emits a sweet rasp of pain, causing a slight movement in Her arched eyebrows and a mild distortion in Her mouth. Thus far, Shyāma-sakhī had not allowed Her eyes to meet with the eyes of Kishorī Jī, but when She heard Kishorī Jī rasping in pain, She forgot Herself and started staring at Her unblinkingly like a statue. Then, due to the excessiveness of divine love, Her hand fell off the hand of Kishorī Jī. On the other hand, finding even Kishorī Jī in the same condition, the sakhīs like Lalitā, etc. felt greatly surprised. After some time, the bangle-seller, Shyāma-sakhī, fell down on the floor in a swoon; and, in Her ecstatic condition, began to utter, “My sweet Rādhe! My sweet Rādhe!” At this, Lalitā said, “Oh, this is surely the daughter of Mother Yashodā’; we had heard that Yashodā had given birth to a daughter. But ..... She was killed by Kansa. Is it so then, that the same daughter of Yashodā has come here as a ghost?” Hearing Lalitā say this, all the gopīs ran out, shouting to one-another ‘Ghost, Ghost!’ Even Kishorī Jī became aware of the secret that the bangle-seller was none other but deceitful Kṛishṇa. Therefore, She took unconscious Shyāmasundara in Her lap. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “After a little while, when Shyāmasundara regained consciousness and found out that He had been detected by all, He started to charm lovely Kishorī Jī with various talks of love, in order to hide His embarrassment.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
