## English whole-pad meaning

Tired of Shrī Kṛishṇa’s pranks, the gopīs are complaining to Mother Yashodā, “Oh Yashodā Jī! You can keep this Braja to yourself. We will find some other place to live. We can no longer live here! Your Kṛishṇa looks young and innocent, but, in fact, He is so naughty that He never misses a chance to forcefully tease innocent gopīs like us. We have had enough of His pranks. We keep our curd-pots up in the chhīkās far above His reach, but somehow He gets hold of these pots; and not only does He eat the contents, but He also breaks the pots. You always think Him to be small, but He makes Himself as tall as He wants to be within a moment by His magical powers. When I go to sell my curd, He blocks my way, saying, ‘I am the king of Braja and I won’t let you pass until you give Me some curd.’ When I threaten to complain to Kansa, He tells me off, eats the curd and breaks my pots. But that’s not the end of it! He then proceeds to wound me with His bewitching side-glance. Thus, your cruel Kṛishṇa, seeing me completely helpless, smiles at my pitiable condition. Oh Mother!, He possesses a thorough knowledge of charms and spells to bring others under His control.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh Yashodā! You never try to discourage Your son. On the contrary, He gets encouragement due to your showing excessive indulgence to Him. But just think, who will like to lose her body, mind and soul by living in this magical city?”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
