## English whole-pad meaning

Shyāmasundara has not yet gotten out of bed this morning. Someone or something has upset Him, for He is showing displeasure by covering His face with His black blanket. Mother Yashodā, trying to coax Him out of bed, says, “Oh Lālā! It is time to take the cows out to graze, get up soon. Look, Your friends are waiting at the door calling out for You.” But Shyāmasundara still does not get up. And after a long time when He does, He still does not disclose what has upset Him so. His anger is however evident by the lines between His eyebrows. Then Maiyā asks Him lovingly, “Tell me, my Lālā, what is wrong? Who has teased You?” Before Maiyā can finish her sentence, Kṛishṇa excitedly interrupts her, “Maiyā, do you know what Bhaiyā tells Me?... ”; after saying just this much, Shyāmasundara starts sobbing. Then, after sometime, He says, “Maiyā! Bhaiyā keeps telling Me that I do not have any mother or father. Hearing this from him, all cowherd friends of ours start laughing and clapping together, Maiyā! Bhaiyā tells Me that Nanda Bābā found Me lying somewhere. Maiyā! I can’t begin to tell you how mean all of them are to Me. And Maiyā!, even you are smiling at Me. It means that there must be something in what they all say to Me.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “In the double-edged words, Mother Yashodā, then, says, ‘My Lālā! One always judges others by one’s own standards.’ One meaning of Maiyā’s words is that it was Balarāma who was found by Nanda Bābā and not You. And the other meaning is that since You (the Supreme Lord) Yourself always trick the individual souls with Your potency, yogamāyā, You suspect even me of doing the same.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
