## English whole-pad meaning

(Grazing the cows on the bank of the river Yamunā, Bhagwan Kṛishṇa is playing with His friends.) Shrī Kṛishṇa is grazing the cows on the bank of the river Yamunā with His cowherd friends. Some are singing, some are playing on their flutes, while others are dancing, keeping rhythm by clapping their hands. They are playing various games amongst themselves defeating one another and sometimes being defeated themselves; sometimes feeling happy and sometimes irritated. Thus, according to their win and loss, all the cowherd boys experience happiness and unhappiness. After playing, they all sat down in a circle with Shrī Kṛishṇa seated in the centre, to eat different varieties of food (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent) which they had brought from their homes. At that time, Manasukhā came up with a practical joke. He told everyone, “Look, today, let us first offer our food to God, and then eat it.” Everyone agreed and little Kṛishṇa closed His eyes before anyone else to offer food to God. As soon as He did so, all His cowherd friends sneaked away the food from in front of Him and ate it all up. When He heard the laughter of His friends, Kṛishṇa opened His eyes; and when He found out what had happened, He started crying and ran home weeping to His mother. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī remarks, “Thus, the cowherd boys make even that Supreme God cry whose mouth is the abode of innumerable deaths. Blessed is that divine friendship!”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
