## English whole-pad meaning

Little Kanhaiyā has just woken in the morning and is asking for bread and butter from His mother. He is kicking up a tremendous fuss, stamping His feet and pulling at His mother’s braid from behind in a child’s loving protest. In accordance with the nature of a little child, He is also making sound of ‘Āṁ, Āṁ’ and catching hold of the churning rod. When even after all this, Mother Yashodā does not listen to Him, He starts rolling on the ground, stamping His feet. Seeing this, Mother Yashodā takes Him in her lap and caressing Him with great love, teaches Him, “Rolling on the ground is bad.” She further says, “First go and wash Your mouth, then I will give You a thick bread with butter.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “At this, Shyāmasundara very innocently replied to the mother, peeping through His pītāmbara, “First feed Me bread and butter, and then I will wash My mouth.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
