## English whole-pad meaning

Nandabābā and Mother Yashodā have entered into rivalry today. Nanda claims, “Shyāmasundara loves me more than He loves you,” and Yashodā claims the same for herself. In order to settle the matter, they went to Shyāmasundara for a decision. (Both of them decided that they would not say a word to Him and would merely approach Him with their arms outstretched. Shyāmasundara would naturally run to the one He loves more.) Then, Yashodā and Nanda walked towards Shyāmasundara with open arms and eyes flowing with parental love in the hope of their expected victory. Baby Kṛishṇa, playing the role of a child, ran to sit in His mother’s lap as usual. Nanda accepted his defeat with tearful eyes and became a little mortified. The All-knowing Shyāmasundara read the thoughts of Nandabābā, and using His power yogamāyā, manifested Himself in Nanda’s heart (As a result, Nandabābā experienced Shyāmasundara sitting in his lap.) On the other hand, (having won the contest Yashodā was beginning to feel proud, so in order to destroy her pride) Shyāmasundara smiled and vanished from His mother’s lap. (In this way, the two, Nanda and Yashodā both won and lost the contest). Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī then whispered to Mother Yashodā, no one should exult in the pride of being especially beloved to this charming deceiver, Shyāmasundara, for it is His nature to crush pride instantly.

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. [Library cover provenance](https://radhey.shreyam1008.com.np/content/books/index.json).

Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
