## English whole-pad meaning

There are celebrations going on in Nanda Bābā’s home in Gokula on the most auspicious occasion of Bhagwan Kṛishṇa’s incarnation. Although Shrī Kṛishṇa had playfully descended Himself through Devakī’s womb in Mathurā, and (with the help of Yogamāyā) Vasudeva had made Him sleep near Yashodā, but outwardly, even Yashodā was unaware of this secret. Only Vasudeva and Devakī knew this. Hence, all the residents of Braja realized this alone that Kanhaiyā has taken birth from the womb of Yashodā tonight. All of Gokula’s inhabitants are dancing and singing in ecstasy, hailing the birth of Kanhaiyā, the son of Yashodā. On the ninth day of Kṛishṇa paksha in the month of Bhādoṁ (i.e. August, the month of heavy rains in India), all the residents of Braja, men as well as women, have made the entire village of Gokula muddy with the liberal sprinkling of milk, curd and butter. Various instruments such as sistrum, mṛidaṅga, flute, vīṇā, conch and oboe are being played melodiously. Sprinkling various fragrances on one another, and dancing and showering flowers, people of Braja are shouting glories to Kanhaiyā. Even Bhagwan Shiva forgetting his nirvikalpa trance, has come running from his divine abode, Shiva Loka, to be blessed with a glimpse of his beloved Lord, the son of Yashodā, ‘Kuṁvara Kanhaiyā’ (i.e. Shrī Kṛishṇa). All the beggars got whatever they asked for. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “I have no concern with them who got great and costly things. I consider myself fortunate to be blessed with just the holy dust of Braja.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
