## English whole-pad meaning

He alone is blessed in the world who recognises his self-interest. The word ‘self’ means ‘soul’ and the meaning of interest is ‘aim’. Thus, the word ‘self-interest’ actually means the attainment of the aim of the soul. As the Vedas, Purāṇas etc. testify, the soul is a part of the Supreme soul, God. Therefore, the aim of the soul can be fulfilled only through God. This knowledge is all that is required. This is indisputably proved by the Vedas and scriptures that God is synonymous with bliss. Therefore, the attainment of the aim of that divine bliss alone is true self-interest. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that laymen should understand only this much that he alone is truly selfish who loves Shyāmasundara’s lotus-feet selflessly. All other selfish ends are perishable because of being related with the physical body. Therefore, the ultimate goal of eternal freedom from sorrows or the attainment of eternal happiness can never be reached through them.

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
