## English whole-pad meaning

Addressing the spiritual aspirants who, caught up in the whirl of wealth, women and fame, make the entertainment of public their sole aim, the poet says – “Oh aspirants! I am going to tell you something very frankly and bluntly. Do not feel bad about what I intend to say for your own good, rather ponder upon it thoughtfully in solitude with an unprejudiced mind!” The poet unhesitatingly begins to tell that such impostors, though outwardly wear sacred beads and put religious mark on their foreheads, claiming themselves to be Vaishṇavas, have illicit relations with prostitutes. They are quite illiterate so far as scriptural knowledge is concerned, yet they teach the Yogavāshishṭhya (the scripture which contains divine knowledge of the Supreme Brahma and whose listener can only be one who fulfils all the four conditions, sādhana chatushṭaya, of detachment, discrimination, absence of bodily sensation and intense yearning for the attainment of Brahma) to all and remain fully attached to the worldly people themselves. They make thousands of disciples by giving mantra in their ears, though the reality is that they themselves are the devoted disciples of their senses. These impostors are envious of the genuine saints, hate to even go near them and always abuse them, but talk with and praise the awfully materialistic people. These impostors who themselves are so degraded that they do not get detached from the world even after experiencing its reality every moment, try to reveal the secret of the highest divine līlā, mahārāsa, which is beyond the intellect of even the governors of the universe Brahmā, etc., to the fallen souls who are like themselves. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī humbly remarks, “Even I am full of egotism, though I declare myself to be humble before all.”

## Published-book provenance

This site presents transcriptions and scans of published devotional literature. It does not compose new verses or meanings. OCR errors may remain.

Decorative Madhuri and Bhakti Challenge illustrations were generated with Codex. They are separate from published source text, original scans and publisher artwork. Library covers are individually credited supplied-PDF cover/source-page images or publisher-representative artwork; the pictured cover does not establish edition equivalence. Prem Ras Madira is a published work by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, with a print history preceding this website. The supplied companion Gutka identifies Radha Govind Samiti as publisher and its eighth edition as 15 July 2011 (PDF page 3, printed page II).

The official biography says Prem Ras Madira was published by 1955; a JKP article gives 1960 for its first Hindi publication. These sources disagree, so this collection does not assert a single verified first-publication year. The 2011 date identifies the supplied companion Gutka edition, not the first publication or every scanned edition.
