<a id="line-2"></a>To maintain the integrity of the divine couplets revealed  
<a id="line-3"></a>by Shri Maharaj Ji we have adopted the following  
<a id="line-4"></a>methodology of transliteration and pronunciation:

<a id="line-6"></a>a as u in but

<a id="line-7"></a>आ

<a id="line-8"></a>ā as a in far

<a id="line-9"></a>इ

<a id="line-10"></a>i as i in pin

<a id="line-11"></a>ई

<a id="line-12"></a>ī as i in machine

<a id="line-13"></a>उ

<a id="line-14"></a>u as u in push

<a id="line-15"></a>ऊ

<a id="line-16"></a>ū as u in union

<a id="line-17"></a>ए

<a id="line-18"></a>e as a in evade’

<a id="line-19"></a>ऐ

<a id="line-20"></a>ai as a in mat; sometimes as ai in aisle with  
<a id="line-21"></a>the only difference that a should be  
<a id="line-22"></a>pronounced as u in but, not as a in far.

<a id="line-23"></a>ओ

<a id="line-24"></a>o as o in go

<a id="line-25"></a>औ

<a id="line-26"></a>au as o in pot, or as aw in saw

<a id="line-27"></a>ऋ

<a id="line-28"></a>ṛi s r in Kṛiṣhṇa  
<a id="line-29"></a>: ḥ which is a strong aspirate also lengthens  
<a id="line-30"></a>the preceding vowel and occurs only at  
<a id="line-31"></a>the end of a word. It is pronounced as a  
<a id="line-32"></a>final h sound
