remained unconscious for hours on end. He would
sometimes burst into unrestrained laughter and
sometimes break into a roaring cry. Unmindful, he would
go without food and water for days. Tears flowed from
his eyes unchecked. While he was wandering around in
this state of trance, sometimes his clothes got caught up
in thorny bushes; sometimes he would trip over a rock
and fall. Gradually, he concealed this bliss of divine love
and started propagating the bhakti of Shri Krishna. Soon,
along with his inspiring messages of divine love, he
started revealing his divine wisdom and knowledge of
the scriptures to the people.
In the year 1955 he organized a huge conference at
Chitrakoot, which was attended by all Jagadgurus and
many eminent scholars from Kashi and various other
places of India. Another religious conference of similar
scale was organized by him in 1956 at Kanpur. The most
learned scholars of Kashi attending that conference were
amazed by his scriptural omniscience. On that occasion
the eminent scholar of Kashi, a leading luminary in the
field of scriptural debate, the universally recognized and
the foremost philosopher of India and Pradhanmantri
(General Secretary) of Kashi Vidvat Parishat, Acharya
Shri Rajnarayan Ji Shukla ‘Shatshastri’ made a public
proclamation at Kanpur on 19.10.1956, part of which is
quoted in the following lines:-
“The scholars of Kashi do not easily accept a person as a
scholar having knowledge of all the scriptures. As a first step
we challenge the claimant to have a debate on the scriptures.
