Published English meaning — contributor not separately identified in this edition

Chanting God’s names, qualities and pastimes can be
compared to the body, and rupdhyan, the loving
remembrance of God to the soul. Just as a body, without
a soul becomes a corpse, so chanting the names,
pastimes and qualities of God, without rupdhyan is in
vain. It yields no benefit.
