<a id="line-2"></a>Shyāma ju ke gola kapola nihāra.  
<a id="line-3"></a>kuṇḍala svarṇa karṇa bahuraṅgī, ratana jaṭita balihāra.  
<a id="line-4"></a>raṅga biraṅgī ratnana damakani, gola kapolani jhāra.  
<a id="line-5"></a>ūpara te kari hoḍa mukuṭa hūṁ, karata raṅg bauchhāra.  
<a id="line-6"></a>uta muktāhala hūṁ nija duti lai, chamaka kapola majhāra.  
<a id="line-7"></a>kaha ‘Kṛipālu’ ika aur deha duti, damakati imi duti chāra.

<a id="line-8"></a>One sakhi draws the attention of her friend to the beautiful soft round  
<a id="line-9"></a>cheeks of Shyāmasundara. Shyāmasundara is wearing earrings studded  
<a id="line-10"></a>with various colourful gems. These colourful glittering gems are showering  
<a id="line-11"></a>light on His cheeks. It seems that His crown is competing with His earrings  
<a id="line-12"></a>in showering rainbow-like colours on His cheeks. The pearl in His nose-  
<a id="line-13"></a>ring is adding glow to His cheeks. The glow of the blue complexion of His  
<a id="line-14"></a>face is also falling on His cheeks. In this way the radiance of His earrings,  
<a id="line-15"></a>the radiance of His crown, the radiance of His nose-ring and His face all  
<a id="line-16"></a>seem to be contesting with each other on His cheeks.
